Wellness destination

France

France has no equivalent to SHA, Lanserhof or Palace Merano, but amazing wellness hotels like Lily of the Valley, Evian Resort or Longevity Barrière

Why France

France is evolving fast as a wellness destination. For years it lagged behind Switzerland, Austria and Spain in medical wellness. That is changing. ZOĪ in Paris offers some of the most advanced longevity diagnostics in Europe. Lily of the Valley on the Saint-Tropez peninsula runs a Chenot-affiliated program in one of the most beautiful coastal settings on the Mediterranean. And new openings in 2025 and 2026 are raising the bar further.

What France brings to wellness is a sense of art de vivre that no other country matches. The cuisine, the architecture, the light. Even the most clinical programs here feel woven into a broader experience of beauty and pleasure. We work with seven partners across the country, from the Riviera to Paris to the Alps, and can help you find the one that fits your objectives and your style.

A new generation of French wellness

France's wellness scene used to mean thalassotherapy centres and thermal spas. Effective, but rarely luxurious. The new wave is different. It started with Lily of the Valley, which opened near Saint-Tropez in 2019 with a full Chenot Health Wellness space. Then ZOĪ launched in Paris, offering deep longevity diagnostics, epigenetics, and preventive medicine in a city-centre clinic. Both signalled that France could compete with the best in Europe.

The pipeline confirms it. Ora The Longevity Bay by Barriere is bringing a major longevity resort concept to the French coast. Regenerate Retreat at Hôtel du Couvent in the south combines regenerative medicine with the quiet beauty of a converted convent. Molène offers a very personal, practitioner-led approach. And our own Serenity Ways Origins retreats take small groups to exceptional French locations for guided wellness experiences.

Paris deserves special mention. ZOĪ is not a resort. It is a medical longevity centre where you can get a full-body check-up, genetic analysis, and a personalised prevention plan in two days. For guests who want clinical depth without leaving the city, it is the best option in France and one of the best in Europe.

From the Riviera to Paris to the Alps

Lily of the Valley sits on the Gassin peninsula between Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle. The Chenot Health Wellness space runs structured detox and recovery programs, and the setting is exceptional: pine forests, sea views, and access to the private beaches of the Côte d'Azur. It is the best option in France for guests who want a serious wellness program in a resort-quality environment.

Hôtel Royal Evian, on the shores of Lake Geneva, offers a different kind of stay. The resort combines thermal wellness with the famous Evian mineral waters and a spa that draws on the alpine tradition. It suits guests looking for relaxation, stress recovery, and gentle programs rather than deep clinical work.

ZOĪ in Paris is purely medical. A two-day longevity assessment covers cardiovascular screening, body composition, metabolic health, genetics, and cognitive function. The team then builds a personalised prevention protocol. For busy professionals who cannot take a full week away, ZOĪ is the most efficient longevity check-up we recommend anywhere in Europe.

Regenerate Retreat at Hôtel du Couvent, Ora by Barriere, Molène, and Serenity Ways Origins each add a different dimension. Regenerate focuses on regenerative medicine. Ora is building a full longevity resort. Molène offers deeply personal practitioner-led sessions. And Origins runs curated group retreats in remarkable French locations. The range is growing quickly.

Good to know before you book

The Riviera is best from April to June and September to October. Summer is beautiful but crowded and expensive. Evian is at its best from May to September, with lake swimming possible in July and August. Paris and ZOĪ work year-round, which is one of their advantages.

Getting to Lily of the Valley requires a flight to Nice (one hour from most European cities) and a 90-minute drive or helicopter transfer. Evian is reachable from Geneva airport in about an hour. ZOĪ is in central Paris, near Saint-Lazare. France's transport infrastructure makes most of these properties easy to reach within a day.

Pricing varies widely. ZOĪ's longevity assessments start around EUR 2,500 for a two-day check-up. Lily of the Valley programs range from EUR 3,000 to 6,000 for a week depending on the program and season. Hôtel Royal Evian is priced as a luxury resort with wellness add-ons. Overall, France is competitive with Italy and more affordable than Switzerland for comparable quality.

France is still building its wellness reputation internationally. That means availability is generally easier to secure than at SHA or Lanserhof. If you want a high-quality wellness stay without the long waiting lists, France is worth considering. Contact us and we will match you to the right property.

Our expert's take

Victoire's take on France

France is my home, and I have watched its wellness scene grow from almost nothing to something genuinely exciting in the space of a few years. It is personal for me. I want French properties to compete with the best in Switzerland and Spain, and they are starting to.

Lily of the Valley is the property I recommend most often. The Chenot program is serious, the setting is magnificent, and it captures everything I love about the south of France. ZOĪ in Paris is where I send anyone who wants a fast, rigorous longevity check-up without leaving the city.

The new openings coming in 2025 and 2026 will change the picture again. Ora by Barriere is ambitious. Regenerate Retreat is doing something genuinely different with regenerative medicine. I think France will be one of the top three wellness destinations in Europe within two years. It is a good time to discover these properties before they become fully booked.
