Longevity, genetics and preventive medicine
Doctor of Medicine, 2005. Specialist in human genetics and genetic medicine, University of Valencia.
Her field is precision, preventive and predictive medicine, and her stated priority is the early detection of risk factors and the prevention of chronic disease. She also works in regenerative and integrative medicine, and speaks Spanish, English, Norwegian and Portuguese.
Prof. Bruno Ribeiro do Couto
Neuropsychology, brain health, sleep and performance
European PhD in Psychology, University of Valencia.
He is developing the neurocognitive unit at ZEM. Before joining ZEM he ran the cognitive units at SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain and Mexico, and he teaches at the University of Murcia.
Dr Jessica Castejón
Psychology and sexology
PhD in Psychology. General health psychologist and sexologist.
She directs the Psychology and Sexology Unit at ZEM. Her fields are sexology, psycho-oncology and evidence-based therapies, and she works in clinical practice, teaching and research.

Booking policy
Booking policy
A deposit of 50% of the total amount is required to confirm the booking, within 5 working days after confirmation of the quotation. The deposit is 100% in case of booking in the Royal Suite. The payment of the remaining 50% of the contracted services must be made at least 14 days before the arrival date. Changing the arrival date is free if ZEM is told in writing at least 14 days before arrival. Inside 14 days the charge is EUR 1,000 per booking when the new date falls within 48 hours of the original one, and EUR 500 per booking beyond that. Leaving early is charged at 100% of the booking, with no refund. The program can be swapped for one of equal or greater value up to 7 days before arrival at no cost. After that the fee is EUR 500 for a 7 day program and EUR 700 for a program of 14 days or more. These charges can be used as credit against additional a la carte services and are not refunded if they go unused.

Cancellations made more than 4 weeks prior to arrival will receive a full refund. Between 27 and 14 days, a charge equivalent to 50% of the booking (i.e. the deposit) will be applied. After that, 100% of the booking is charged.

Where is ZEM and how do I get there?
ZEM stands above Altea on Spain's Costa Blanca, looking over the Mediterranean. Alicante airport is about 50 minutes by car. Valencia is the alternative, around 90 minutes, with wide European connections.

The two are very close to one another. SHA has been there for more than 15 years and is famous worldwide. ZEM is newer and more luxurious, and the experience feels more personal and more adaptable.
Is ZEM suitable for couples?
Yes, and it works well even when the two of you want different things. One can follow a medical program while the other builds the stay around spa treatments, movement and the pool. Program schedules are aligned on request.
