MAYRLIFE Day Clinic Vienna is the outpatient arm of MAYRLIFE Altaussee, the medical health resort on the Altaussee lake. It sits in the first district, on Operngasse a few steps from the State Opera, inside BIOGENA Plaza, and it exists for the part of Mayr medicine that does not require you to go away.
The medical concept is the same one practised at Altaussee, translated into a city format: consultations and examinations, Mayr diagnostics, laboratory work, infusion therapies, biohacking applications and nutrition coaching, taken as single appointments or as the two week City Detox cure.
Medical direction is by Dr. med. Alexander Thaler, a general practitioner with training in traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, systemic constellations and breathing therapy, who has worked as a MAYRLIFE physician since 2021 and has spent recent years specialising in F.X. Mayr medicine. He was previously a meditation teacher and medical director of a fasting coach training programme.
The clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am to 1pm. It is worth knowing before you plan a trip around it: this is a two morning a week practice, not a full time clinic, and appointments are the whole of the offer.
The property

F.X. Mayr medicine treats the gut as the starting point for whole body health. The classical cure does that residentially, with the diet, the rest and the daily rhythm all controlled by the house. The Vienna clinic keeps the medicine and hands you back the daily rhythm.
The diagnostic core is unchanged. Functional myodiagnostics reads muscular response to identify the foods and substances your body reacts to. The abdominal treatment is performed by the physician, by hand, on the digestive organs, to influence intestinal function and release tension. Oxidative stress (FRAS) and mineral analysis give the numbers the plan is set against.
On top of that sit the things a city clinic can do that a mountain one need not: a standard laboratory panel with hormone status, whole blood analysis for cellular micronutrient status, fatty acid analysis for the omega-3 to omega-6 balance, cardiovascular risk profiling, and a full infusion menu from a simple vitamin and mineral drip to high-dose ozone therapy.
The biohacking applications are the ones installed at BIOGENA Plaza: whole-body cryotherapy, interval hypoxia-hyperoxia training, red light, PEMF, lymphatic drainage and compression, magnetic pelvic floor training and electromagnetic muscle stimulation.
The two week City Detox is how these pieces are sold as a cure rather than as appointments: a medical opening, a medical closing, and the diagnostics and treatments that matter most in between.
Food and nutrition
There is no restaurant and no dining here. That is the honest shape of a day clinic, and it is the main practical difference from Altaussee, where the kitchen does half the work.
What the clinic provides instead is the instruction. Nutrition coaching runs online, in one session or with a written individual plan drawn up by a MAYRLIFE nutrition specialist, built around the intolerances myodiagnostics found and the way you actually eat.
The plan follows Mayr principles: relieve the digestive system, eat the larger meals earlier, chew properly, drop what you do not tolerate. It is written to be cooked at home, which for an outpatient cure is the only version that works.
BIOGENA, whose building the clinic sits in, makes micronutrient supplements, and the collaboration runs through the micronutrient diagnostics and the supplementation that follows. Supplements are charged separately from every programme price.
The building and what is in it
BIOGENA Plaza opened at Operngasse 8 in November 2022 as the Austrian micronutrient maker BIOGENA's first flagship: four floors holding a 24/7 store, a cafe, consultation rooms and a biohacking floor.
The biohacking floor is the reason the day clinic can offer what it does. It holds a cold chamber running to minus 110 degrees, interval hypoxia-hyperoxia training, vibration training for bone density, and the light, magnetic field and compression equipment. None of that would fit in a doctor's practice, and MAYRLIFE did not have to build it.
The medical rooms themselves are the ordinary thing: consulting rooms, a treatment room for abdominal work and infusions, diagnostics. This is a clinic on two mornings a week, not a spa, and the sensory experience of the visit is a Viennese street door and a lift, not a mountain lake.
The location is central to the point of being unavoidable: the State Opera is around the corner, Karlsplatz is a few minutes on foot, and Vienna airport is about half an hour away by CAT or taxi.

The outpatient MAYRLIFE cure: the Altaussee method run over two weeks in Vienna, while you keep sleeping at home and going to work. You come in for the appointments, and the diet and the daily routine happen in your own kitchen.
It opens with a 50 minute medical examination including oxidative stress (FRAS) and mineral analysis, which is what the rest is built on, and closes with a final evaluation so the two weeks end with a reading rather than a stop.

What is the atmosphere like and who goes?
Urban, brisk and medical. The clientele is largely Viennese professionals fitting an appointment around a working day, plus MAYRLIFE guests coming for preparation before Altaussee or follow-up after it. Nobody is in a bathrobe. Two morning slots a week and 50 minute appointments set the tempo.
What does it do better than anywhere else?

Vienna is an outpatient day clinic in the first district where you come in for appointments and go home afterwards.
