The property
Merano is a spa town in South Tyrol, and getting there is the one genuinely awkward part of the trip. It is also why the town is still quiet.
Villa Eden has been working on longevity here since 1982, long before the word was used to sell anything. It holds 25 suites and it does not look like a clinic. Angelika Schmid has owned it since 1993 and watches over the stays herself, which is why guests notice details that larger houses delegate.
More on the property
The table is what surprises people. There is a sommelier and there is a bar, and guests still leave lighter than they arrived. Stays of a few days work here, which is unusual at this level.
It is the wrong address for someone who wants to be pushed hard, or who is treating a diagnosed condition. It is the right one for coming back two or three times a year.

Villa Eden is really focused on remise en forme and longevity, but can address a wide array of objectives, in particular with its ability to design tailor-made programs.
The team is led by Dr Emanuele De Nobili who is an expert in anti-aging and nutrition medicine. Another important physician is Dr Doriano Ottavian who is an expert reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon.

How is the experience at Villa Eden?
Villa Eden feels like a private villa, with world-class longevity expertise and facilities. It also feels very homely, thanks to the attention of the owner, Angelika Schmid.
There are 25 suites, all beautifully decorated, with stunning Italian design.

A double room in light and dark tones. It offers a double bed, a living area with a desk and a dining table, and a walk-in closet. It has a balcony facing Northwest, overlooking the Monte Tessa mountains.
A double room of 35 to 38 sqm, in golden hues. It offers a queen-size bed, and a terrace or balcony facing South, overlooking the park, the pool and the Adige Valley.
The largest suite at Villa Eden, at 100 sqm. It has two bedrooms, each adjoining its own living room. There is a large round terrace facing South, overlooking the gardens and the Adige Valley, and two bathrooms.
A junior suite of 45 to 55 sqm, with a queen or king-size bed and a large closet or walk-in wardrobe. Most have a terrace or balcony facing South, overlooking the gardens, the pool and the Adige Valley.
A 60 sqm junior suite named after Luciano Pavarotti, who stayed here often. It offers a king-size bed, dark toned furnishings, and a bathroom with an extra-large shower.
A suite of 50 to 55 sqm with an extra-size double bed, a living area with a desk and a dining table, and a walk-in closet. It has a terrace facing South, overlooking the park and the Adige Valley.

Reservation is confirmed after a 30% deposit of the total stay. It can be paid by credit card or by bank transfer. The remaining balance may then be settled at any time prior to arrival.

Up to 14 days prior to the arrival date: no cancellation fee will apply. The deposit may either be refunded or retained as a credit for a future stay. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to arrival, 100% of the total reservation amount will be charged. What sets Villa Eden apart from other leading longevity clinics?
At Villa Eden, the owner Angelika Schmid has been running the clinic since 1993. It gives a unique long-term and female perspective into what a wellness clinic can be, and how the guest experience can be elevated. The result is a boutique clinic where medical excellence is always at the frontier, without sacrificing on pleasures of life. And this is very rare in this space.
How much does a stay at Villa Eden cost?
Villa Eden prices a stay in two parts: the room, and the programme or treatments you have on top. There is no single all inclusive rate. Rooms. The most recent rates they quoted us, for August 2026, were €550 a night for the Black & White Living and €600 for the Petite Park View, both in half board and in single occupancy, with a 3% service charge added on the accommodation. Larger suites rise from there, up to the 100 sqm Grand Suite. Half board covers breakfast and one meal a day from the kitchen of Michelin starred chef Marcello Corrado, and the pools, sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, Fitness Lab, yoga, water gym and morning power walk are included with the room. Programmes. From €745 for The Villa Eden Moment, a short taster, to €6,950 for Signature Better Aging, their most complete longevity programme. The three day Antiaging Love Yourself is €990, Healthy Gut €1,800, Remise en Forme €2,950, Weight Care €3,900, Anti Cellulite €3,950, Sleep Restore €4,050 and Immunoplus €4,750. These are on top of the room. À la carte. You can also build your own stay from their 2026 menu. Diagnostics: a biointegrative medical consultation is €250, the ANS and heart rate variability analysis €225, the epigenetic test and the BioAge telomere test €500 each, the gut microbiome test €600, the nutrigenetic Geno Diet test €950, and a full laboratory panel starts at €700. Therapies: cryotherapy €90, systemic oxygen ozone therapy €200, an intravenous antioxidant infusion €380, photobiomodulation from €160 to €500 depending on the protocol. Treatments: massages and body work from €150 to €340, facials from €180, and yoga, Pilates or personal training at €150 for 55 minutes. Aesthetic medicine starts around €300 and runs to €2,500 for the more involved procedures. A realistic figure for the three night anti-ageing stay we most recently arranged was €2,690 all in. A week with one of the fuller medical programmes lands closer to €10,000 to €12,000. Villa Eden is located in Merano, where another famous longevity clinic operates: Palace Merano. How advanced is the medical longevity approach of Villa Eden?
Villa Eden has always been at the forefront of preventive medicine, aesthetics, detox and - obviously - longevity, way before it was a trend. The medical diagnostics include epigenetic testing, bioimpedance analysis, heart rate variability (ANS) assessments, microbiome testing, oxidative stress profiling, and biological age evaluation to personalize care. The range of therapies is very wide, including IHHT (intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia training) with Cellgym, cryotherapy, medical ozone therapies, IV micronutrient infusions, NanoVi sessions, biofeedback, targeted metabolic and detox treatments, and structured personal training.
Can I add treatments or diagnostics on top of my programme?
Yes, and most guests do. Villa Eden publishes a full à la carte menu each year and the doctors will suggest what fits once they have seen your first assessment. The diagnostics are where it is most worth it: the epigenetic test and the BioAge telomere test are €500 each, the gut microbiome test €600, the nutrigenetic Geno Diet test €950, and the autonomic nervous system analysis €225. On the therapy side, an intravenous antioxidant infusion is €380, systemic oxygen ozone therapy €200, cryotherapy €90 a session and NanoVi style photobiomodulation between €160 and €500. Add a massage or a facial and you are between €150 and €340. Aesthetic medicine, which is a real speciality here with two plastic and aesthetic surgeons on the team, starts around €300 and goes to €2,500.
