Wellness destination

Germany

The best wellness clinics in Germany are Lanserhof in Sylt and Tegernsee, Buff Medical Resort in Konstanz, as well as Park Am See Nattika for Ayurveda

Why Germany

Germany is home to two of the most important Lanserhof locations and a growing number of innovative wellness clinics. Lanserhof Tegernsee, south of Munich, is the original Lanserhof flagship and one of the most respected medical wellness clinics in Europe. Lanserhof Sylt brings the same method to the North Sea island of Sylt, with a coastal atmosphere that feels entirely different from the alpine setting.

Beyond Lanserhof, Germany is developing a new wave of wellness properties. YEARS near Berlin takes a modern, science-driven approach to longevity. Buff Medical Resort combines medical diagnostics with active recovery. Park Am See offers a lakeside retreat model. We know each property well and can help you choose the right one for your health objectives and travel preferences.

The Lanserhof standard and what comes next

Lanserhof Tegernsee set the standard for modern medical wellness in Germany. It opened in 2013 in a striking building designed by Ingenhoven Architects, on the shores of Lake Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alps. The medical team runs Mayr-based programs alongside functional medicine, performance diagnostics, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. The clinical depth is the same as Lanserhof Lans in Austria, but the property is newer and the architecture more contemporary.

Lanserhof Sylt is a different experience. The island of Sylt, in the North Sea off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein, has a maritime climate with brisk sea air, wide beaches, and a strong tradition of Kur (health cure) culture. The Lanserhof program here follows the same medical protocols as Tegernsee, but the setting adds thalassotherapy elements and a coastal rhythm that many guests find deeply restorative.

The newer German entries reflect a shift. YEARS is positioned for a younger, more urban clientele interested in longevity science and biohacking. Buff Medical Resort brings together sports medicine and recovery. Park Am See offers a quieter, nature-focused alternative. Germany's wellness landscape is broadening beyond the traditional Mayr model, and these properties represent the next chapter.

Alps, coast, or city: choosing the right setting

Lanserhof Tegernsee is the right choice for guests who want the full Lanserhof experience in an alpine setting. Lake Tegernsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria. The clinic is 45 minutes from Munich, making it easy to reach for international guests. Programs typically run seven nights and cover detox, metabolic reset, immune support, and longevity diagnostics.

Lanserhof Sylt suits guests who prefer the sea. The North Sea climate is bracing and therapeutic in its own right. The island is popular with well-travelled Germans who value discretion and quiet. Sylt is reached via a short flight to Sylt airport or by train across the Hindenburgdamm causeway. The programs are identical to Tegernsee in medical scope.

YEARS, near Berlin, appeals to a different profile. It targets professionals in their 30s to 50s who want longevity optimisation without the traditional clinic atmosphere. The approach is data-driven, with wearable tracking, biomarker analysis, and personalised protocols. It is more lab than lake, and that is the point.

Park Am See and Buff Medical Resort round out the German offering. Park Am See provides a calm lakeside retreat with a focus on naturopathy and recovery. Buff brings sports medicine and active rehabilitation to a resort format. Both serve guests who want German precision in a less clinical environment.

Good to know before you book

Bavaria is best visited from May to October. The lakes are warm enough for outdoor activity, the alpine scenery is at its most impressive, and Lanserhof Tegernsee operates at full capacity with its outdoor programs. Winter stays are also popular, especially for guests who enjoy the contrast of cold outdoor air and warm indoor wellness.

Sylt has a short peak season from June to September. The island is breezy year-round, and many guests find the off-season months (April, May, October) the most restorative. Fewer visitors, longer walks on empty beaches, and the full attention of the Lanserhof team.

Munich is the best international gateway for Tegernsee. Direct flights from all major European and many intercontinental cities land at Munich airport, and the clinic is under an hour south. For Sylt, fly to Hamburg or Sylt directly. Berlin serves YEARS.

Pricing at Lanserhof Germany is similar to Lanserhof Lans in Austria: roughly EUR 5,000 to 9,000 for a seven-night program depending on room category and diagnostic add-ons. YEARS and the newer properties are generally priced below Lanserhof. Germany offers the same medical rigour as Switzerland at a noticeably lower cost. Reach out to us for a personalised quote.

Our expert's take

Victoire's take on Germany

Lanserhof Tegernsee is one of the finest medical wellness clinics I have visited anywhere. The building alone is worth the trip. And the medical team runs a program that is as rigorous as anything in Switzerland, at a lower price. If someone asks me for a Mayr cure in a modern, architecturally impressive setting, Tegernsee is my first recommendation.

Sylt is more of a personal taste. I love the island. The light, the wind, the beaches. For guests who find alpine clinics too enclosed, Sylt offers the same Lanserhof quality in a completely different atmosphere. It is particularly good for repeat guests who have done Tegernsee or Lans before and want a change of scenery.

I am watching the newer German properties with interest. YEARS is doing something genuinely fresh with longevity science. Germany has the medical infrastructure, the research culture, and the precision to become a major wellness destination. The next few years will be exciting.
