Adler Spa Resort Thermae, in detail

Thermal hydrotherapy pool with natural mineral water at Adler Spa Resort Thermae

01

The property

Nestled in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, and golden light, Adler Spa Resort Thermae draws on a natural treasure that has attracted visitors for millennia: the healing thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni. At 36°C, rich in bicarbonate, sulphate, and volcanic minerals, these waters flow through 1,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor pools, forming the centrepiece of a resort built around total restoration.

The ADLER Med centre brings a modern medical dimension to this ancient wellness tradition, with an in-house blood laboratory, a team of specialist doctors available around the clock, and personalised prevention programmes rooted in holistic medicine. Beyond the spa, the resort celebrates Tuscan life at its finest: a gourmet kitchen led by Chef Gaetano Vaccaro working with local seasonal ingredients, a candlelit travertine wine cellar, and a landscape that invites exploration by foot, bicycle, or simply from a sun-drenched terrace.

More on the property

Rooms and suites are designed with light, natural materials, and warm colours, each with panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside. Whether you come for a weekend of thermal bathing, a week-long medical wellness programme, or a Tuscan gourmet escape, Adler Spa Resort Thermae wraps every experience in the gentle, weightless feeling the ADLER brand calls home.

02

Thermal wellness

The resort's wellness philosophy is rooted in the healing properties of its 36°C thermal water, naturally rich in bicarbonate, sulphate, volcanic substances, and trace minerals with proven benefits for bones, skin, and joints. This ancient resource flows through 1,000 m² of indoor and outdoor pools, creating a continuous circuit of warmth, buoyancy, and mineral absorption.

The spa extends well beyond the thermal baths. A generous sauna world includes the Finnish Panoramica forest sauna with Tuscan hill views, an organic sauna set in the travertine lake, cleansing steam baths (Grotta del Filosofo and the brine-infused Salino), and the herbal caldarium Artemisia with aromatherapy. Over 40 highly trained doctors, therapists, and beauticians deliver a treatment menu spanning ADLER's own organic cosmetics line, Ayurvedic therapies, and classic European techniques.

More on thermal wellness

The ADLER Med centre takes wellness into medical territory. An in-house blood laboratory, advanced diagnostic equipment, and specialist physicians available 24/7 support personalised health programmes covering detox, weight management, stress reduction, longevity, and sleep therapy. It is this integration of ancient thermal tradition with modern preventive medicine that sets the resort apart.

Italian gastronomy

Dining at Adler Thermae is a Tuscan journey led by Chef Gaetano Vaccaro, whose Mediterranean cuisine highlights the best local and seasonal produce. The day begins with a vast breakfast buffet featuring home-made baked goods, vitamin-packed juices, and regional specialities. At lunchtime, the cosy Osteria in the park serves light, fresh dishes.

Evenings bring multi-course gourmet dinners, from classic Bistecca alla Fiorentina to creative interpretations of Tuscan tradition. The romantic open-air restaurant and the candlelit travertine wine cellar offer memorable settings, while the piano bar provides a cheerful accompaniment. The cellar stocks selected Sicilian, Italian, and international wines alongside bottles from Tenuta Sanoner, ADLER's own biodynamic estate.
