Not every wellness trip looks the same. Some people want a doctor to run their blood work, design a nutrition plan, and send them home with a roadmap. Others just want to hike until their legs burn, sit in a sauna until their thoughts slow down, and eat extraordinarily well. Most want something in between.
The five ADLER properties cover that entire spectrum: they offer in-depth medical programs, alongside holistic retreats, as well as pure mountain adventure and family wellness. They all share a DNA of natural materials, excellent food, and that particular South Tyrolean warmth that makes you feel looked after without being fussed over.
Here's how to match the right resort to the right moment in your life.
If you need a proper health reset: Adler Balance
- Where: Ortisei, Val Gardena, Dolomites
- Minimum stay: 5 nights
- Best for: Longevity and health improvement
This is the most medical resort in the ADLER family. The ADLER Med centre here runs in-depth programs for weight management, detox, and stress.
All programs are available in Essential (5-night) and Intensive (10-night) formats.
The programs include an initial medical consultation, blood work, bioimpedance analysis, personalised diet and exercise / movement sessions, daily treatments and therapies, and a final consultation with your recommendations to take home with you.
The resort wraps all of this in comfort: an elegant spa, mountain views from every window, and a chef that proves healthy eating doesn't mean boring menus. You're here because something specific needs to change, and you want medical guidance to make it happen.
Signature experience: The ADLER Med Detox Intensive. Ten nights of medical program, daily body treatments, personalised food, and coaching that leaves you a lot lighter and clearer.
Note: Children are not accepted, but you can stay with them next door at Adler Dolomiti. Dogs are not accepted.
Starting from:
- €707 per person (Essential programmes)
- €1,687 per person (Intensive programmes)
Wellness with a Mediterranean soul: Adler Spa Resort Sicilia
- Where: Siculiana, Agrigento coast, Sicily
- Best for: ADLER Med approach in a warmer, more sensory setting
Sicilia offers the same calibre of integrated medicine as Balance (Mediterranean Health Essential and Intensive programmes, plus dedicated Stress Management, Longevity Booster, and Sleep Therapy packages) but the setting couldn't be more different. Instead of Alpine peaks, you have a hillside above the Mediterranean, bordering the pristine Torre Salsa nature reserve.
The 3,200 m² spa has thirteen sea-view treatment cabins, an infinity pool on the horizon line, and a rooftop thalasso pool with saline water. The kitchen celebrates Sicilian terroir: fresh seafood, citrus, wild herbs, olive oil. And the ADLER Med team here leans into the Mediterranean diet as a therapeutic tool, complete with cooking classes at Tenuta Sanoner, ADLER's own biodynamic estate.
You may prefer Adler Sicilia over Balance if the medical excellence matters to you, but you also want warmth, sea air, and the feeling of a leisure resort holiday rather than a health retreat.
Signature experience: The Longevity Booster, with four nights of advanced diagnostics, personalised menus, and treatments really designed to optimise your biological age.
Starting from:
- €716 per person (Mediterranean Health Essential)
- €2,949 per person (Stress Management Intensive, 7 nights)
Soak in ancient thermal waters: Adler Spa Resort Thermae
- Where: Bagno Vignoni, Val d'Orcia, Tuscany
- Best for: Thermal wellness lovers, Tuscan culture enthusiasts, and anyone who just wants to feel weightless
The headline here is the water. Bagno Vignoni's thermal springs have drawn visitors since Roman times, and the resort channels them through 1,000 m² of indoor and outdoor pools at a constant 36°C. And it's super rich in bicarbonate, sulphate, and volcanic minerals with proven benefits for joints, skin, and general wellbeing.
The ADLER Med centre is present here too, but Thermae shines brightest as a place to simply let go. The sauna world is exceptional: a Finnish panorama sauna overlooking Tuscan hills, an organic sauna set in a travertine lake, aromatic steam baths, and a herbal caldarium.
Add guided walks through the UNESCO-listed Val d'Orcia, cooking classes, Brunello wine tastings in Montalcino, and gourmet dinners by Chef Gaetano Vaccaro: you have a resort that makes you profoundly healthier, without ever feeling like a medical clinic.
This is the ADLER for people who believe that pleasure itself is part of the therapy, and who want Tuscany on the side.
Signature experience: The Enjoy Tuscany package, with three nights combining thermal baths, a cooking class at ADLER's organic farm, a Brunello wine tasting, and daily guided nature excursions.
Starting from:
- €398 per person (1-night thermal escape)
- €1,325 per person (Enjoy Tuscany, 3 nights)
If you want mountains, movement, and fresh air: Adler Lodge Alpe
- Where: Alpe di Siusi, Dolomites (1,800 m altitude)
- Best for: Active couples and outdoor enthusiasts who want luxury after the effort
Lodge Alpe is the sportiest property in the collection. And the most intimate. Perched on Europe's largest high-altitude Alpine meadow, it's a boutique hideaway of just a handful of suites and chalets where hiking trails and ski runs start at the front door.
There are no medical programs here, and that's the point. This is a resort for people who find their wellness on a mountain trail, on an e-bike, or in a pair of ski boots. They want to come home to a wood-fired chalet, a panoramic open-air pool, and a gourmet dinner they didn't have to think about.
Think of it as a cousin of The Capra in Saas-Fee: the same philosophy of serious mountain access paired with genuine luxury, but with the ADLER signature of natural materials, South Tyrolean warmth, and an all-inclusive arrangement that covers everything from breakfast to wine.
In summer: guided hikes across wildflower meadows, e-bike tours, yoga sessions.
In winter: Dolomiti Superski access, snowshoe excursions, cross-country trails.
Year-round: three saunas (including a hay sauna using locally harvested mountain hay), an infinity pool with Dolomite views, and the kind of silence that only 1,800 metres of altitude can provide.
Note: Children under eight are not accepted. This is an adults-focused retreat.
Signature experience: The Winter Magic package. Ski the Dolomiti Superski by day, then return to a steaming open-air pool surrounded by snow, a crackling fire, and a multi-course dinner with regional wines.
Starting from:
- €1,200 per person (Pamper Yourself, 3 nights)
- €1,218 per person (Honeymoon/Babymoon Specials, 3 nights)
If you're travelling with young children: AKI Plose
- Where: Bressanone, Dolomites
- Best for: Families with babies, toddlers, and young children who want wellness without guilt
AKI Plose (formerly ADLER's family brand) was built from the ground up for families. And it shows. Daily childcare from one month old runs 9:00 to 21:00, a dedicated kids' water world keeps little ones occupied, and a separate adults-only forest spa gives parents genuine time to breathe.
The family-specific wellness programs are clever: Baby & Us (gentle postnatal recovery for new parents and their baby), Mum Harmony (focused on mothers needing to recharge), and Antistress Spa (a proper spa escape with the childcare safety net). Even the rooms are designed around family life, with Family Homes up to 80 m² that give everyone their own space.
But it's not just for families with babies. Children of all ages have the best time of their life there, and parents as well.
If you've ever come back from a "wellness holiday" more tired than when you left because you were trying to manage the energy of your children around an adults-only spa, AKI Plose is the antidote.
Signature experience: The Baby & Us program, offering new-parent wellness with baby included, from postnatal massage to family pool sessions.
Note: dogs are not accepted.
Starting from: €350 per person per night (Family Spa Package)
How to choose
Start with what you actually need:
If you know something's off (weight, stress, sleep, energy...) and you want medical support and a structured plan, go to Balance, Thermae or Sicilia. Choose Balance for Alpine focus, Sicilia for Mediterranean warmth and sea air, Thermae if you prefer Tuscany and hydrotherapy.
Thermae is also the best choice if food and wine culture matter as much as the spa.
If your wellness comes from physical effort and high-altitude air, Lodge Alpe is your place. You will also appreciate to have zero friction between the mountain and a five-star evening.
And if you're a parent who needs to recharge but can't (or won't) leave your children or teens behind, AKI Plose makes it possible without compromise.
All five share the same DNA: family-owned properties, natural materials, thoughtful design, exceptional food, premium comfort with great value for money. You'll love the family-run warmth that corporate wellness brands can't replicate. The difference is just where you are on the spectrum between "fix me" and "free me".
