Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti sits at 1,375 metres above Pinzolo, in Italy's Trentino region. The property holds 88 suites and 22 wellness residences, all set within 35 hectares of alpine meadows. A 5,000 sqm spa forms the heart of every stay.
The resort runs as a dual-season retreat for most of the year. A private shuttle links guests to the Pinzolo lifts, which connect into the wider Madonna di Campiglio ski area in winter. In summer, forest trails for hiking and e-biking start at the property gate. The hotel closes each April and May for its low-season break.
Lefay Dolomiti works well for couples, families, solo wellness travellers, and small groups where one guest wants active mountain time and another wants deep spa days. Both find what they came for in the same building.
The property
The Lefay Method
The Lefay SPA Method combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western wellness approach. An in-house Scientific Committee guides every treatment protocol. The method rests on two core principles: the five movements of Chinese medicine and precise stimulation of energy meridians and acupoints.
The emphasis is energetic rather than medical. Signature bodywork uses targeted pressure along meridian lines to restore what the method calls balanced vital energy. Western massage, hydrotherapy, and beauty rituals run alongside. The altitude (1375 metres above sea level) adds its own benefits. Cold-weather exposure, forest bathing, and mountain air are built into the protocol rather than treated as side activities.
The same method runs at Lefay's Lake Garda property, but at Dolomiti the mountain-specific adaptations give treatments a more invigorating, less restorative feel.
Food at Lefay Dolomiti
Food at Lefay Dolomiti follows the Vital Gourmet concept. It is a light Italian Mediterranean cuisine developed with the Scientific Committee. Portions are balanced and ingredients are local and seasonal. The cooking leans on Trentino-Alto Adige traditions with lower salt, sugar, and saturated fat than typical Italian menus.
Three restaurants cover the range. Dolomia is the main fine-dining room and runs summer and winter menus that change with the alpine ingredients of each season. Grual is the more casual all-day restaurant, useful for relaxed lunches and post-activity meals. The Sky Lounge handles aperitivo and light plates with panoramic mountain views.
Dietary requests are accommodated without fuss. Vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and low-FODMAP menus are all available. Guests following a Lefay SPA Method program can opt into a calibrated menu aligned with their treatments.
The Lefay SPA
The resort spans 88 suites and 22 wellness residences across several wings. Generous windows face either the Brenta peaks or the forested valley below. Interiors use cedar wood, natural stone, and wool textiles. The palette is warm and restrained. Nothing shouts.
The Lefay SPA World covers 5000 square metres - which is huge. It includes indoor and outdoor thermal pools, a segregated adults-only wellness area, and a full suite of saunas and steam rooms. The Fenice Rossa sauna is the signature piece, with panoramic glass overlooking the mountains and snow in winter. A fitness centre with guided classes, a yoga studio, and a medical consultation area complete the wellness footprint.
Outside, 35 hectares of meadows and forest surround the property. A private shuttle runs to the Pinzolo lifts for skiing in winter, feeding into the Madonna di Campiglio ski area. In summer, marked trails start at the gate for hiking, e-biking, and forest walks. A limited number of children aged 11 and under are welcomed in dedicated family suites.

Active & Balance
5 nights · From €1,090
Active & Balance is a five-night program built around the Lefay SPA Method. It pairs indoor treatments with outdoor alpine activity, using the mountain environment as a clinical tool rather than a backdrop.
The wellness side draws on the five movements of Classical Chinese Medicine. Signature bodywork targets energy meridians and acupoints, restoring what the method describes as balanced vital energy. Treatments are delivered inside the 5,000 sqm Lefay SPA World, which blends Eastern and Western disciplines.
The active side uses the surrounding Adamello Brenta Natural Park. In summer that means guided hiking, e-biking, and outdoor yoga at altitude. In winter it means snowshoeing, Nordic walking, and forest immersion in fresh alpine air. The combination is what separates this program from pure spa stays. You leave feeling both reset and physically stronger.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Lefay Dolomiti located?
Lefay Dolomiti is in Pinzolo, in the Trentino region of northern Italy. The resort sits at 1,375 metres above sea level, on the edge of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park. Verona airport is a two-hour drive, Milan Malpensa three hours, and Innsbruck two and a half. The hotel can arrange private transfers from any of them.
When is the best time to visit?
Lefay Dolomiti runs from June through March, closing in April and May. Winter (December to March) is for skiing, with shuttle access to the Pinzolo lifts and the Madonna di Campiglio ski area. Summer (June to September) is for hiking, e-biking, and outdoor yoga. Autumn is quieter and better for pure spa time.
Who is Lefay Dolomiti best suited for?
The resort works well for three types of guest. Active couples who want spa time plus skiing or hiking. Solo travellers booking a Lefay SPA Method program for a structured energetic reset. Small groups of friends mixing wellness with mountain activity. It is less suited to guests seeking strict medical diagnostics. For that, look at Palace Merano or Lanserhof.
What makes the spa different from other alpine wellness resorts?
Two things. First, the scale: 5,000 sqm of wellness space is larger than most peer properties in the Alps. Second, the method. Lefay blends Classical Chinese Medicine with Western wellness rather than leaning purely on hydrotherapy or medical testing. Signature bodywork uses meridian stimulation in a way you rarely find outside dedicated TCM clinics.
How long should I stay?
Three nights is the minimum and works for a spa weekend with two or three treatments. Five nights opens the door to a full Lefay SPA Method program like Active & Balance. Seven to ten nights suits guests wanting deeper results or combining wellness with winter skiing or summer hiking.
What food is served?
Vital Gourmet, a light Italian Mediterranean cuisine designed alongside the Scientific Committee. Three restaurants cover it: Dolomia for fine dining, Grual for casual all-day meals, and the Sky Lounge for aperitivo. Vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and low-FODMAP menus are all available on request.
Can I bring children?
The resort accepts a limited number of children aged 11 and under in dedicated family suites. Adults-only spa zones stay reserved for grown-up guests at all times. Lefay Dolomiti is not a dedicated family resort, but families with one or two younger children can enjoy it alongside couples and solo travellers.
How does Lefay Dolomiti compare to Lefay Lago di Garda?
The two properties share the same SPA method and brand standards but feel quite different. Lago di Garda is a Mediterranean setting with olive groves and lake views, running year-round but most appealing in spring and summer. Dolomiti is alpine, works brilliantly in winter, and leans more active. Pick Dolomiti for skiing and mountain hiking. Pick Lago di Garda for warmer weather and gentler terrain.
What does a stay cost?
Room rates start around €1,100 per night for a Prestige Junior Suite. Royal Pool & Spa Suites in peak winter weeks rise to €3,000 and above. The Active & Balance program runs from €1,090 to €2,590 per person depending on room category and season. That covers five nights, the treatment schedule, and Vital Gourmet half-board.
