Six Senses Crans-Montana occupies a prime position in the Swiss Alps at 1,500 metres, overlooking the Rhone Valley with views to the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. The resort opened in 2023 after a full renovation that blended Swiss chalet architecture with the Six Senses approach to wellness and sustainability.

Seventy-eight rooms and suites feature bespoke furnishings, huge bay windows and private terraces. The 2,000-square-metre spa anchors the property with nine treatment rooms, flotation pods, a thermodynamic circuit and an outdoor pool called Ora that seems to float above the mountains.

Crans-Montana itself offers 300 days of sunshine a year. Winter brings championship skiing; summer opens up hiking, golf and mountain biking. The resort sits within easy reach of Geneva (2.5 hours) and Zurich (3 hours).

Wellness approach

Six Senses integrates biomarker screening, personalised programs and hands-on therapies within a luxury Alpine setting. Each wellness guest begins with a non-invasive health assessment that measures key biomarkers. The results guide your treatment plan across movement, nutrition, sleep and recovery.

The spa team blends Eastern practices with Western sports science. Programs cover sleep optimisation, detox, fitness, yoga and hormonal health. Biohacking tools in the Recovery Lounge include cold plunges, flotation pods, sound therapy and light therapy.

Unlike destination clinics, Six Senses frames wellness as part of a broader resort experience. You can ski in the morning, do a biomarker screening after lunch and have a deep-tissue massage before dinner. The flexibility suits guests who want clinical-grade wellness without the structure of a medical program.

Dining experience

The resort takes an Eat With Six Senses approach that prioritises local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Much of the produce comes from farms in the Valais region. Menus balance nutrition with flavour and change with the seasons.

Wellness program guests receive tailored meal plans designed with the spa nutritionist. Options range from plant-forward detox menus to high-protein recovery plans for active guests. The resort accommodates most dietary requirements including vegan, gluten-free and Ayurvedic protocols.

Dining reflects the region as much as the destination. Wild Cabin serves seasonal Alpine dishes using ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers, while Byakko presents Japanese cuisine with a refined omakase experience. Guests can also gather at Ora Bar & Lounge or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Club Alpin after a day on the mountain. Room service is available throughout the day.

Facilities

The 2,000-square-metre spa has seven single and two double treatment rooms. A thermodynamic circuit includes a steam room, ice fountain, cool plunge pool and three saunas: Finnish, rock and bio-salt. The Alchemy Bar lets guests make their own scrubs and hair treatments using fresh organic ingredients.

The Ora outdoor pool is the centrepiece of the property. Heated year-round, it overlooks the valley and surrounding peaks. A 24-hour fitness centre, stretch studio and Recovery Lounge with flotation pods and biohacking tools complete the wellness infrastructure.

Beyond the spa, the resort offers direct access to ski slopes in winter and hiking trails in summer. A kids' club, meeting spaces and multiple restaurants round out the facilities. The architecture follows a Swiss chalet style with natural timber, stone and floor-to-ceiling glass.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Six Senses Crans-Montana located?

The resort sits at 1,500 metres altitude in Crans-Montana, in the Valais canton of the Swiss Alps. Geneva airport is about 2.5 hours by car. Zurich is roughly 3 hours. The resort can arrange private transfers.

What wellness programs does Six Senses Crans-Montana offer?

Seven programs cover sleep, detox, fitness, yoga, female wellness, rest and recovery, and the signature Alpine Reboot. Each starts with a biomarker screening. Programs run from 3 to 7 nights. The spa also offers individual treatments and visiting practitioners.

How long should I stay at Six Senses Crans-Montana?

A minimum of 3 nights gives enough time for a focused wellness program. Five nights allows deeper results and more recovery time between treatments. The 6-night Alpine Reboot is the most thorough option. Non-wellness guests often stay 2 to 4 nights for skiing or hiking.

Who is Six Senses Crans-Montana best suited for?

The resort suits wellness-minded travellers who also want a luxury Alpine holiday. It works well for couples, families and solo guests. Those seeking deep medical intervention may prefer a dedicated clinic like Buchinger Wilhelmi or Clinique Nescens. Six Senses excels at integrating wellness into a broader resort experience.

What is the spa like at Six Senses Crans-Montana?

The spa covers 2,000 square metres with nine treatment rooms, flotation pods and a Recovery Lounge with biohacking tools. A thermodynamic circuit includes three saunas, a steam room, ice fountain and cool plunge pool. The Alchemy Bar lets you make your own scrubs from organic ingredients. The heated Ora outdoor pool overlooks the valley.

Is Six Senses Crans-Montana suitable for families?

Yes. The resort has a kids' club and family-friendly rooms. Children under 16 can use the spa pools when accompanied by a parent. Dedicated kids' swimming hours run from 9 to 11 am and 2 to 4 pm. Residential apartments with three to five bedrooms suit larger families.

How does Six Senses Crans-Montana compare to other Swiss wellness resorts?

Six Senses offers more structured wellness programs than most luxury ski resorts. Its biomarker screening and Recovery Lounge set it apart from Buergenstock Resort, which focuses on individual treatments. SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain and Lanserhof in Austria offer more clinical depth, but Six Senses provides a stronger Alpine lifestyle component with skiing, hiking and dining.

What does it cost to stay at Six Senses Crans-Montana?

Room rates vary by season. Winter (ski season) and summer (hiking season) command peak prices. Wellness programs are priced separately and depend on duration and treatments selected. Contact the resort directly or enquire through Serenity Ways for a personalised quote.

What activities are available beyond the spa?

Winter offers skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and ice skating. Crans-Montana has over 140 km of ski runs. Summer brings hiking, mountain biking, golf on two 18-hole courses and lake swimming. The resort has a 24-hour fitness centre and multiple dining venues. The town itself has luxury boutiques and restaurants within walking distance.
