Tulåh is a clinical wellness sanctuary on the southwestern coast of India, set near Calicut in Kerala. It brings together ancient healing traditions and contemporary medicine in a single, doctor-led environment, with a philosophy centred on root-cause healing rather than the management of symptoms.
Founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Faizal Kottikollon and his wife Shabana through their family office KEF Holdings, the sanctuary grew out of a personal healing journey and a belief that true health begins with balance. Its buildings follow the contours of the landscape, built to LEED and WELL standards, and its kitchens draw on herbs, fruits and seasonal produce grown in the surrounding gardens.
Tulåh sits alongside the group’s Meitra Hospital, a medical centre of more than 200 specialists with a Cleveland Clinic collaboration, giving guests access to advanced diagnostics and, where needed, full surgical and medical care within the same integrated setting.
The property
Medical approach
Healing at Tulåh is treated as an evolving process rather than a fixed protocol, guided by a multidisciplinary team through four phases: Diagnose, Assess, Heal and Sustain.
At the centre sits the tulåh Life Index, a proprietary framework that measures seven dimensions of health (cardiovascular health, muscle health, immune health and inflammation, gut health, lifestyle risk, quality of life and stress management) to give each guest measurable insight and a personalised care pathway.
Care is delivered by a resident team of specialists that includes functional medicine and modern medical doctors, Ayurvedic physicians, a traditional Chinese medicine and naturopathy specialist, physiotherapists, a sports scientist, a genetic counsellor, a clinical nutritionist, a clinical psychologist, and a yoga practitioner and sound healer.
Six areas of care work together across each journey: regenerative and biotech therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy, PRP, IV nutrient therapy, peptides and exosomes; hands-on Ayurvedic, Chinese and Tibetan therapies; mind, body and energy practices including sound healing, meditation and breathwork; movement and performance training; personalised nutrition; and advanced medical diagnostics including genomic sequencing, MRI, CT, DEXA, and cardiac and performance testing.
Signature experiences unique to Tulåh include Clinical Yoga, a therapeutic adaptation of Iyengar yoga focused on spinal alignment, the Sonorium for advanced sound healing, a patented Vichy hydrotherapy bed, and an enhanced Panchakarma protocol delivered under clinical supervision.
The food concept
Nutrition at Tulåh is medicine, and entirely personalised, with plans shaped by each guest’s dosha constitution, genomic profile, microbiome analysis and metabolic markers.
Meals are built around thoughtful nourishment, drawing on herbs, fruits and seasonal ingredients often grown in the sanctuary’s own gardens, and are woven into the daily rhythm of each programme.
Award-winning architecture
The sanctuary is designed as a place of stillness, with soft curves, natural light and open views connecting every space to the landscape. Accommodation ranges from Restorative and Medical Rooms to Terrace, Sanctuary, Garden, Clinical, Restorative, Tulåh, Royal and Presidential Suites.
Wellness and recovery facilities include a Watsu pool, sauna, gym, meditation spaces, racket sport courts, and dedicated music and sound facilities. On the medical side, Tulåh holds a fully equipped operating theatre, intensive care rooms and consultation suites, with diagnostic imaging that includes MRI, CT, X-ray, DEXA, mammography, pulmonary function testing and echocardiography.
The sanctuary is roughly twenty to twenty five minutes from Calicut International Airport, and can also be reached from Cochin International Airport in about three hours by road or around forty five minutes by helicopter. Chauffeur-driven transfers and a private helicopter landing are available.

A 50% advance payment is required at the time of booking to confirm the booking. The remaining 50% balance must be settled 45 days prior to the arrival date. For bookings made within 45 days of arrival, full payment is required at the time of the booking. All payments must be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other approved digital payment methods. Payments are non-transferable and can only be applied to the guest(s) named on the original booking.

Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to arrival - A credit note will be issued for the total amount received, which can be applied towards a future stay within 12 months from the date of issuance. Cancellations made less than 45 days prior to arrival - No refund will be provided, and 100% of the booking amount will be charged. Guests may reschedule their retreat dates up to 30 days prior to arrival, subject to availability and a one-time date change fee of 10% of the total booking value. Rescheduling within 30 days of arrival is not permitted, and the cancellation policy will apply. Any changes to the itinerary, services, or package inclusions after booking may be subject to additional charges.

What makes Tulåh exceptional medically?
Tulåh is a genuine clinical facility, not a spa with a doctor on call. On site it holds a fully equipped operating theatre, intensive care rooms and consultation suites, alongside advanced diagnostics that include MRI, CT, DEXA, X-ray, mammography, echocardiography, ECG and pulmonary function testing, plus genomic and microbiome testing. Every journey is led by a resident multidisciplinary team, and guests also have access to more than 200 specialists at the group’s sister hospital, Meitra. Who founded Tulåh, and what is the story behind it?
Tulåh was founded by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Faizal Kottikollon and his wife Shabana, through their family office KEF Holdings. It grew from Faizal’s own healing journey. Facing severe neck pain and numbness that pointed toward surgery, he brought together neurologists, physiotherapists and Ayurvedic doctors, and that integrative recovery became the blueprint for Tulåh. Shabana, named among India’s leading philanthropists, shapes the sanctuary’s art and cultural life, and the couple’s Faizal & Shabana Foundation supports education, healthcare and the arts.
Is Tulåh private and discreet?
Discretion is central to the experience. Tulåh is a secluded sanctuary set in private grounds, and it is used to caring for high-profile guests who value privacy above all. The atmosphere is understated rather than showy, every journey is entirely private and personalised, and the team is practised at protecting the anonymity and comfort of everyone who stays.
What do guests wear at Tulåh?
There is no need to pack an outfit. Every guest wears the same soft white clothing throughout their stay. It is deliberately comfortable and quietly levelling, so no one is defined by what they arrived in, and it is yours to keep and take home at the end of your journey.
What is the food like?
Dining is completely personalised. Each guest’s meals are designed around their own diagnostic results, dosha constitution and goals, so no two plates are quite the same. The kitchen works with herbs, fruit and seasonal produce grown in Tulåh’s own gardens, across three thoughtfully composed meals a day, and the food is as delicious as it is precise.
What is the difference between a Wellness and a Clinical journey?
Every stay begins with consultation and diagnostics, then follows one of two depths of practice. A Wellness journey is for prevention, regeneration and recalibration, with around two personalised therapies a day. A Clinical journey is for chronic conditions, deeper imbalances and recovery, with more thorough diagnostics, closer medical guidance and around three therapies a day. Many journeys can be taken at either depth, and the right one is chosen together with you.
Which signature experiences are unique to Tulåh?
Alongside doctor-led medicine, Tulåh brings together therapies rarely found under one roof. Signatures include Clinical Yoga, a therapeutic form of Iyengar yoga for spinal alignment, the Sonorium for immersive sound healing, a patented Vichy hydrotherapy bed, and an enhanced Panchakarma delivered under clinical supervision. These sit alongside regenerative treatments such as hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy and IV therapy, and traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine.
How long should I stay, and what does it cost?
Journeys run from four nights for the introductory Discover Clinical Wellness up to fourteen or twenty-one nights for the deeper programmes. Pricing is all-inclusive per night, covering accommodation, the journey, therapies, diagnostics, personalised meals and airport transfers, and it varies by room, journey depth, length of stay and occupancy. Where is Tulåh, and how do I get there?
Tulåh sits in the hills near Calicut in Kerala, on the southwestern coast of India. It is about a twenty to twenty-five minute drive from Calicut International Airport, which connects via Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and it can also be reached from Cochin International Airport in around three hours by road or forty-five minutes by helicopter. Chauffeur-driven transfers and a private helicopter landing are arranged for your arrival.
