Why an energy reset works
Low energy is rarely just fatigue. It is usually a stack of small dysfunctions. Poor sleep, a sluggish gut, chronic inflammation, low iron or thyroid, unbalanced blood sugar, and a nervous system that never gets to switch off. Most people try to fix one of these and wonder why nothing changes.
A good vitality retreat works because it hits all of them at once. You get bloods, body composition, microbiome testing, and a physician plan. You eat clean food cooked by someone else for a week. You sleep eight hours a night for the first time in months. You move daily without overdoing it. The body does the rest.
Most guests feel the shift by day four. Sharper focus in the morning, fewer afternoon dips, deeper sleep, better digestion. The follow-up protocol is what makes the gains stick once they get home.
Types of energy and vitality programs
Our 74 programs in this category split into four distinct approaches. Pick the one that matches how your body wants to rebuild.
- Medical vitality and cellular regeneration (Clinique La Prairie, Clinique Nescens, Lanserhof). These are the most clinical options. Clinique La Prairie Montreux runs its Revitalisation Premium, a 7-day program built around the CLP cellular regeneration protocol with full diagnostics. Clinique Nescens in Switzerland offers Biohacking and Advanced Wellness Therapies alongside its longevity stays. Lanserhof Tegernsee runs an Energy Balance add-on to the Classic program, designed to sustainably stabilise energy output.
- Mayr-based digestive reset (MAYRLIFE, Lanserhof Sylt, Lanserhof Lans). Low energy often starts in the gut. The Modern Mayr protocol resets digestion first and lets energy rebuild from there. Lanserhof Sylt Classic Plus starts around €5,352 per week. MAYRLIFE in Austria runs Rebalance and Energy stays for guests who want a shorter reset at a lower price point.
- Swiss and alpine recovery (Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, The Capra, Kusnacht Practice). Grand Resort Bad Ragaz runs Recharge, a 3- or 5-night spa and wellbeing program with medical oversight and thermal waters, from €4,003. The Capra in Saas-Fee pairs high-altitude recovery with hyperbaric oxygen and performance testing. Kusnacht Practice in Zurich offers BIO-R® Longevity Blueprints, the most personalised vitality protocol we know of, across Signature, Detox, Female Health, and Cognitive versions.
- Ayurvedic and Eastern rejuvenation (Six Senses Vana, Ananda in the Himalayas, COMO Shambhala Estate). For guests who want a slower, more contemplative reset, this is the strongest group. Six Senses Vana in India runs Ayurveda Panchakarma, the classical five-action detoxification protocol, plus twelve other Ayurvedic stays. Ananda in the Himalayas offers Holistic Yoga combining five yogic traditions. COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali runs Energy Realignment from €2,627, a two-day program using therapeutic touch and Asian energy-based techniques.
How to choose the right vitality program
If you want clinical depth and the most advanced diagnostics, book Clinique La Prairie Montreux or Kusnacht Practice. These are the premium end of vitality medicine and match guests who want objective data to anchor the reset.
If you suspect your energy problems start in the gut, go Mayr. MAYRLIFE and Lanserhof Sylt are the two we recommend most. A week at either is enough to see digestion normalise and energy return.
If you want recovery without a strict medical frame, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz Recharge is the most comfortable option in Switzerland. The thermal waters and the medical oversight give you the benefits of a clinic without the austerity.
If you want to rewire the nervous system alongside the body, go Ayurvedic. Six Senses Vana and Ananda in the Himalayas are our two strongest picks. These suit guests who feel burnt out more than biologically depleted.
If you can only spare a weekend, look at COMO Shambhala Estate Energy Realignment or The Ranch Hudson Valley 3-Night. Both are short-stay options that still deliver a real reset.
What to expect during the stay
Day one is assessment. Blood work, body composition, a physician consultation, and often a functional movement screen. At Clinique La Prairie and Kusnacht Practice you also get cellular-level testing and biological age markers. The day ends with a tailored plan for the rest of the stay.
Days two and three are the reset. Caffeine, sugar, and alcohol come off the menu. The gut quiets. Sleep starts to deepen. Gentle movement replaces whatever high-intensity habits you brought with you. Most guests report a headache on day two and a clearer head by day three.
From day four the protocol builds. IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, red-light therapy, breathwork, and massage layer in depending on the clinic. Movement stays moderate and purposeful. Physicians review progress daily and adjust the plan. By day seven energy is noticeably higher and the post-lunch crash is gone.
Guests leave with a home protocol for the next four to eight weeks covering food, sleep, movement, supplements, and stress work. The stay is the accelerant. The protocol is what locks the gains in.
